Business End of a Saturn V Rocket

Mardi was flying down to Orlando Florida for an IT conference so I decided take a few days off and tag along. It took all day saturday to get down there so I didn't have much time to sight see.

Mardi went with me to see the NASA visitor centre at Cape Canaveral on Sunday. So cool. That's me standing underneather the first stage of the Saturn V rocket which one like it would have been used to throw an apollo space craft to escape velocity.

1 mile was as close as we got to any of the launch pads. We were driven down the road which is right next to the crawler way. You know that f--k off huge bulldozer thingy that transports the shuttle (upright) from the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) to the LP. (Do I have to spell that one out) I love how everything is an acronym.

We even got to see inside the Space Shuttle or Orbiter. Check it out all my Canadian mates, I didn't know Canada made the cargo bay arm. Well Done!
