Hot in Seattle

Mardi and I wanted to get some exercise in on Saturday morning before it got too hot. On the way to Green Lake the temperature gauge in Liz-zee (our new 350Z) read 80 something degrees at 8.30 in the morning. The mercury topped out at 100 degrees around 2pm. All we could do was to lie low in the basement where it's cooler.

That evening we met up with the Sultan Gang and some of the Belltown gang to see "The Muppet Movie" at the Fremont outdoor theatre. I had forgotten how funny the muppets were. Thankfully it started to cool down around 9pm.

A new addition to the family

I finally got rid of the gold buick and bought a Nissan 350Z Coupe Touring over the weekend. I would have blogged about it earlier but we've been driving it non stop.

It's a two seater so when I told Mum she asked where the baby seat will go. Nancy, Mardi's mum asked where the dog will sit.

Weekend of firsts in Chelan

Mardi's first Triathlon and my first time to Chelan.
Mardi and Dee Dee crossing the finish line. Months of training making it all worth while. Dee Dee and Mardi started and finished together.
Henry, Kelly, Mardi and I had this cool holiday apartment with a huge deck right on the water. After the race the whole gang hung out sipping corona and margaritas with our hotdogs and blue cheese burgers. Mardi, Jennifer and Dee Dee in the transition area before the race.
Mardi and Dee Dee starting the cycle leg. Starting the run. This photo was taken just before Mardi stopped to give this photographer a huge kiss.
Kelly crossing the finish line. Emma

Belinda broke her arm just weeks before. Despite this she still raced. Dean entered at the last minute as Belinda's training partner didn't go through with it. He even let her cross the finish line first. What a top Bloke. What a bloody amazing effort Belinda.

4 July Road Trip

With a new top on Sal (our 68 mustang) and long weekend ahead of us, we decided to take a roadtrip around the North Cascade mountain range. No particular destination in mind, just on an adventure looking for cheesy roadside attractions.

first stop on the roadside attractions tour: stonehenge. It is a WW1 memorial to 14 solider from Klickitas county second stop: Lyle (guess who recommended this stop)
Lyle Hotel in Lyle, Washington - Dad is still trying to convince us the town is named after him Mt. St. Helens from the South
The "meatball" in the Ape Caves on the road to Mt. St. Helens
the North side of Mt. St. Helens backyard of our cabin at Eco-Park Resort where we saw 20 elk crossing the road. We want to bring the Aussies here next year
our new friends in Toutle - Mike, Martha, "Martie" & Pat. Pat was camping on Mt. St. Helens when it blew in 1980 Where Dion was introduced to a "real" American 4th of July. Beer & fireworks galore!
